| ALL MOUNTAIN CROSS "AM CROSS" |
| SoCal's newest race is the All Mountain Cross ( AM Cross ). This race is intended to fill in the gaps between Cross Country and Downhill racing. The basic format is about a 20 minute uphill aerobic climb with some flats and steep possible hike a bikes. Once at the high point in the race you will do at least a 5-10 minute technical high speed decent. The categories for the race will be for solo racers and 2 person teams. The solo's will race the entire race on their own and on one bike ( no switching bikes at the top ). For the 2 person team categories 1 person does the climb and the other does the downhill. Once at the top of the climb the first rider will physically tag the second rider and the rider goes. Just like the name implies this race favors the 5-6 inch travel bikes. The solo riders will want a bike that goes up as well as down. The teams will want the most efficient bikes for each section. Keep in mind that this is not a cross country race. The uphill will be technical and the downhill will not be a freeride trail or downhill race course. There will be a few sections of the downhill where you have to climb a bit to get home. There will be some steep technical sections but a light all mountain bike will be the right choice. category's include: SOLOS: ( MEN AND WOMEN ) PRO EXPERT SPORT BEGINNER 2 PERSON TEAMS ( 2 PERSON TEAMS ARE NON GENDER SPECIFIC OPEN CATEGORIES) PRO EXPERT SPORT BEGINNER This race promises to be a super fun and exciting adventure for all ability groups! The total time on course should be no more than 45 minutes. There is a 50% payback for the pro division. The payback will go down to 3rd place and be completely dependant upon the pro registration! There will be awards for each category for 1st,2nd,and 3rd place finishes. Also awards for fastest amateur time for solo's and team's. |
